Doesn't seem like it ... it is sold in typical star-bucks coffee plastic cup with the rounded cover.

The bottom has got some food which Iassume is some decayed fruit. The flies just crowd around the "food" and they dun seems to fly even when the container is shaked.

Also ... can fin maggots ... small enough for betta ... but wonder where anyone tried thaton their betta?

Yes, have given fruit fly larvae before. Only problem is that it's difficult to harvest. Both adults and larvae are good foods. Wingless mutants are desirable as they cannot fly, thus are easy to feed - just shake some into the tank. Can be bred but I have heard that after a few generations, they develop normal wings again.........natural selection = reverting to wild type.
