The two fish pictured definitely exhibit the cambodian gene, since there is a lack of black pigment everywhere except in the eyes. Is the entire spawn like this?
If you are looking to develop cambodians, you should aim to get all the remnants of red off the body and get the fins to be fully red.
If you are aiming to get red butterflies or pure extended reds, suggest you use different fish.

Majority of the spawn lacks black pigment as pointed out.
How can I go about removing the red from the body and make the fins fully red?
Any advise on how to improve the finnage as well?

Thanks

Breed to fish which exhibit the best in those characteristics (no red on body, fins fully red and good finnage), with good cambodian genes. Stay away from those with heavy iridescence and it does not hurt to pray as well.

What about this fish from the same spawn?
Can it be used to produce red?

thanx

I would refrain from using fish with cambodian genes to work on the reds. If you do try, do concentrate on increasing the intensity of the red on the body, because it tends to be paler than the fins.
