:DHe! :D 2 pairs of 'not-so-important' strains spawned today in the outdoors tanks. greenish/brownish murky water with floating plants and ...mmm noticed bits of bird droppings in the bottom too :D
Now these were my working strains which havent reached the desired forms n HM yet so all I was looking for was their best male n female offsprings for me to work on. after several difficult attempts, maybe female getting old, I decided to breed them the natural way. threw the 2 pairs side by side in glass tanks with collected rain water, debris, bird shit,..and what have u[including lots of infusoria in the water]. :D :D
and they spawned! Was watching the pairs...one of the most peaceful breeding I ve seen. Maybe they think they have landed in Jurassic parlk 3 so better breed now before no chance :D
both pairs started the 'process' at abt 9am, done by 11am
so they like outdoor lifes :D :D :D

Actually, I have raised some before in this natural shanty environment. Threw some bettas to eat mossies etc. used this as my Green water tank. Happened that male/female wa sintroduced. actually some fries grew up on nothing fed. ther is a lot of infusoria in the tank that I can see, some even resemble microworms and swim like them. some also very small..might be rotifers. occasionally midge flies[bloodworms], glass worms also exist!
Threw ome female into 1 tank before after 3 weeks she was 2 times larger than her sisters in the jars....?????so???

Yo...let me show my cards. The outdoor couple is a MG geno[red multi] x MG. fries free swam on 3rd day [cnf]. was usually 4 or 5 days one [cnf]
ntg fed for 2 days after free swam n stomachs look full...gud! :D
Just innoculated with some daphnia today....to complement those infusoria in the tank. I intend not to give any bbs to this spawn and see how they do. later stage, daphnias will be given every 2 days only. so far I think its 100% survive rate.
oopps. next door neightbours...marble genos also spawn today! [eb] water in this tank even murkier :D

Well thats how the Thais raise bettas anyway. I just copycat :D
The plastic cover for the outdoor tanks smeared with bird droppings. Maybe shld open it up so that the bird shit falls into the tank and create extra infusoria [eb]

when you see less fries, you wonder why the birds got fat stomachs.

Oh whenever the mynahs come they never go away empty handed [eb]
So I had to sign an agreement with them on limited hunting, so as to preserve my betta ecosystem :D
