Besides learning about the good and not so good experiences of betta keepers and breeders, this place is also a good resource for information about where to buy good fish, equipment, medicine, etc. etc. etc.

Agreed with Lynn. The experts will correct any mistakes which we made, learn from them and share their experiences.
All hobbyist start from novice, right?

Beside the numerous topics, there's also the polls.
By participating in the polls, we contribute to the surveys and learn from the interesting information/data collected. I particularly like the polls on... (just to name a few)
- Lifespan of bettas
- Whether bettas feel pain
- Category of betta lover people are in
- Amount of water that people change
- Volume of water for long tail bettas
- Betta types that people prefer
- Whether people prefer finnage or colour
- Food that people feed their bettas
- Blood worm allergy
- Breeding time-frame
- Spawning time of day
- Jarring
- and the list goes on...
A big THANK YOU!!! to those who had put in the effort to create the surveys. GOOD JOB!!! [gd]

I agree that there are indeed heaps to learn from the wealth of information in this forum.
What I like about this forum is that I'm able to learn what fellow hobbyists do to keep their bettas (especially fancy bettas) in top form.

Yes! and the beauty of it all, is that we are all still learning from each other, without malice. Even those that have been in the betta hobby for years, myself included.
cheers,
Phil
