Hi,
The purpose of this BCS Photo Contest is to replace the Betta Compare cum BBQ event scheduled on 15 May due to the recent outbreak of SARS. After many many days of discussion with the committee, we have decided to play safe so we have opted for this BCS Photo Contest.
Since it's a replacement of event for members, this Photo Contest is also for BCS members participation only. But non members pls do not be disappointed yet.
The categories for this contest will be in line or similar to that of Aquarama, i.e. 9 categories! Judging is by a mixture of polling and appointed judges - more details will be given by Dr.Hsu in due course.
All photos will be downloaded by me in the BCS Forum Photo Album so that all (members and non members) can view and appreciate them. Non participating members or non members are also able to take this opportunity to learn which color of bettas belong to which categories so that during the October Aquarama, all will be able to have more experience gain on that. Also we will be able to see how bettas are 'judged by all' and what criterias are more important in a contest or competition. So it's a very good learning experience for all.
For those that have their bettas ready for Aquarama, this is also a good opportunity to take a picture of your betta and take part in this contest before you put them into the breeding tank.
As some or most of us will be disappointed with the postponement of the Aquarama due to SARS, we hope that the BCS Photo Contest will be able to liven up our mood.
Prizes, and other details - stay tune...

*Important : As I've juz been 'quarantined' for the last 25 hrs or more due to virus infection, I will not open any email with attachment without that title in case my pc got virus again. Sorry about that but I don't wish to reinstall everything again. Thank you.

Chris, it might be a more interesting if viewing of "competitors" are not allow till the entry ends. In a way, u don't let those that wish to join but seeing others better than his/her and feel inferior.
Since it's like Aquarama, then make it Aquarama way of benching in.
More fun isn't it ?

Sorry for the late reply Moses. Artistic is something that you have use a photo editing software to make the picture more artistic and has got nothing to do with any types of betta. All types all good for this entry and it's the skill of photo editing that counts.
