Q: Will artificial hatching produce deformed fish, or produce results different from normally hatched fry?
A: Artificial hatching is only the method through which the eggs are kept, until they hatch. In no way should it affect the genetic or physical traits of the newly hatched fry. There have been opinions that fry hatched so, tend to have lousy parental care themselves, but it remains to be proven so. As such, this method should be used only when the male is not properly caring for the eggs.
