Since Foo Hong have started so many treads on the different traits ... let me try ... Plakats!!!
With all the attentions given to HM, CT ... pple seems to have neglected Plakats.
Can someone comment on the topics below:
- How to appreciate and judge a plakat?
- Is DT plakat desirable?
- Ray branching in plakats? primary? seconday? tertiary?
- Is plakat with CT extensions desirable?
- being near HM by nature ... can we use them to achieve better finnage for deltas?
My personal opinion ...
- Plakats are more active and easier to maintain.
- They breed more readily.
- They are more hardy.
- DT plakat dun seems to appeal to most.
- Ray branching is limited due to tail length.
With Best Regards,

plakats are nice too but just that people in general like larger finnage fishes I think. Unlike teh wild forms, plakats are quite colourful these days. I wouldnt breed them but would buy some nice ones.

But I really think that they are very good fish ... esp for beginners.
Just like what you have said ... they look very good nowadays ... and really good ones are hard to come by too.

I look for solid colored plakats only.
There are many HM plakat keepers, but not Traditional plakats and this is a shame

can i ask, y is the decreasing number of traditional plakat keepers a shame?
kinda curious on this.
i believe that the HM feature of plakats is a progression from the traditional plakats..
its like a new area in which to improve on-- gettin the fish to have HM finnage.
just my opinion..

Well, this HM plakat to me is like a trend similar to the pokemon, digimon etc...
Few hardcore people say nice, everyone likes it. That's what i see HM plakats as. Same as for copper HMs
