luo han or flower horn is a hybrid. So far, categorised under cichlids family with sci name "CICHLASOMA hybrid" which belong to a South American cichlid gene. In fact, some "internal" info that JingKang is another hybrid from our normal freshwater "steam on the plate" yellow telapia but I would rather guess the Red Devil cichlids. Texas louhan comes from a hybrid with a South American cichlid Texas. In fact, there are some Texas cichlids sold as Blue Texas louhan. Goodness, a 5 bucks fish become several times higher just become of such craze.
To the extend that Parrot or what we call Blood Parrot and also a man-made cichlids but the official name is Hybrid Parrot Cichlid and no sci name.
When one ask about cichlids, it's the biggest aqua-family - 0ver 150 genera and over 1000 species.
my fav - German Ram and Altolamprologus (rare and expensive). The 2 types of cichlids I bred before are Orange Chromide ( extremely rare in Singapore) and discus.

Used to keep them ... have 3 4ft community tanks of them.
Used to breed them too ...
Go to 61 Sungei Tengah for nice chiclids. But their price flucuates ... bargain before buying.

I have 2 silver argentaea. Bought them a Jason's place. They are about 3inches now. I think he is charging a lot more than $60/- now. From what i heard he is asking for $110/- for them.

haiz...
onli got one jaguar...very nice fella...
but IMHO, cannot compare with argentaea...$110 very ex...but i think still affordable...
worth every cent man...
holland rams are a separate subspecie...
rams got many diff varieties...all brought about by both selective breeding...
but many are found naturally...
one classic eg is bolivian ram and holland ram...
both look very similar but bolivian smaller and have more colourful and intense patterns...
