What is the colour of most of the ventraless fries you have seen?

Hmmm...looks like it is not genetics then, since I am into extended reds and I have never had ventralless bettas!

Yep ... I think with improper care of the fries ... the syndrome affects all colors.

1. What are the food fed to the fries during the 1st wk ?
2. How often was the water change before observing missing development of ventral fins ?

My answer :
1. BBS, Mircoworms
2. 10% alternate day with aged water

try dosing with blackwater! you will get ventraless ones. and feed microworms for 2 weeks. guarantee.

Kelvin, which brand of blackwater extract ? Tetra ?

I do notice microworms as one of the source, but not conclusive. Some uses mw and face no problem. I am looking at the source of food that used to bed the mw culture. Some form of excessive micro-mineral that inhibit the development of ventral.

Doctors, any scientific studies on this ventraless development in river fish done locally ? I do know there are some done in foreign water for water contanmination at factories waste water discharge.

eh...i dun tink is black water i put alot 4 my breeding dun hv tt prob oni when my last last batch aoc dt hv tiz prob but u put in a big tank n feed it like normal it will grow out ! reli...oni abit short like female oni hope tiz helps...=)

Never had ventralless fries.....ever. Mw threw away long ago....kekeke

BBS, rotifers n baby moinas seems more suitable.
