Hi,

Where does one start with the serious interest in keeping betta fish for competition?
I've seen betta fishes in competition and they are amazingly beautiful.

Does this mean that I have to start breeding my own betta fish now?
How to see if my betta fish is in tip-top condition .... I mean more then just being alive and swimming around?

Appreciate if someone with the experience be kind enough to share with me :D

Hi fuzzy,
may I recommend a site to you? You will find some articles there that explain very well how to get started, how to choose a pair for spawning, how to spawn, how to select and so on. I guess you might find it helpful: http://www.bettaterritory.nl/BT-AAB.htm
Maybe that solves a few problems for now - and whatever else is unclear then, that rest you can still ask here :D
Many greetings,
Ursula

Erm, it would be better if you allow the fish to flare and take a photo. ( my little advice)
