Just throwing for discussion.
One of the joy and headache of betta keeping is in jar/tank selection. Lets each share their containers used, type, size, price, durability, handiness, availability, glass vs. plastic....effect on growth, what they used for[fries, juveniles, adults, male/females, luohans[oops!], etc.......

Just saw at Ganges today - new betta tanks! Of course they have the old standby - Nisso, at $11.00 only - but they also had a few new tanks made by AA (or something like that) that would be ideal for Bettas...
1) 6 inch x 8 in x 10 inch height
2) 7.5 inch x 9.5 inch x 8 inch height
3) one that is larger than (1)
They are all like 5-plan tanks - black plastic rims on top, sides and bottom (but not full bottom like Nisso). Apparently also a few other sizes but he only took these 3.
Cost only $13.00 and he said can be less if order more....
Thinking seriously of the (2) size for my rack, and I think the (1) size may be good for Aquarama.....Anyone want to join order?

Li Chieh

Dr Hsu, don't mind a few (say 4) pcs at $13-, if that helps towards making a bulk order! If that's ok, count me in. BTW, where's Ganges - name of shop or Ganges Rd? cheers, sy

Ganges is in Lor Halus. Actually don't know if they still go by that name anymore. They are now at 35F I think. Get most of my tubifex and daphnia there - pretty much the cleanest around.
BTW, what size are are you thinking of...

Hi All,
regarding the tanks ... I am not sure whether what I saw at Farmart area is the same as what Dr Hsu might have mentioned.
What I saw are some small tanks that fits Dr Hsu's descriptions ... small tanks with black trimming but not full bottom. They can in many sizes and I asked the boss and was quoted pirce of about 12 - 13.
Can check it out at ... I think the number to the place is 63 or 65. Just before the bend to Farmart. The shop is on the right hand side the moment you turn in.

Hsu,I think I saw these before at the wet marklet store at AMK ave 4. They only came in a set of 3 stack together inside each other starting from smallest , that time to 'test market'. Its quite nice and look exactly like 5-plan.

Yes, I thought it was 5-plan initially but the owner said it's not. Apparently more than the 3 sizes available but he only took these.
Wah, wasted - since his sticker price for Nisso is only $11.00 and he volunteered a better price if order more, you could have gotten your 12 nissos for under $10?? Maybe you can flog them off on Bettahan!:)

Dr Hsu,
Regarding your question, I'm referring to size 2 (same as your choice, I believe) to make up the nos.

Nisso tank at Ganges???
I bought the last piece leow ... paid $10 for it.
The owner says that new shipment might come later but doesn't seems
confirm.
Foo Hong ... btw where did you place your order.
I think of getting a few for myself too.
Personally ... I think the Nisso tanks still look best in the market for the trimmings. Just my opinion.

Thanks Foo Hong ... I think I will need some tanks like Nisso or its look alike to keep some of my better fishes.
The tank also seems to be good for photography too ... took some nice pic for my Extened Red CT over the weekend using the Nisso tank.

Hi Foo Hong,
Got pic of your jungle or not =)
Very curious regarding your set-up.
The thought of have ... like 20 tanks for purely betta and hundreds of jars and multiple spawn at one time???? Daunting .... =P
As for my set-up ... it is neat because the scale is not large yet.
One thing that my setup is lacking for now ... good lightings. Thought of doing like Straits ... with the light tubes and the reflective metal sheets.
With Best Regards,
Samuel Phan
