Hi,
I would like to enquiry about the frequency of water change.
I am changing about 50% of the water every two days or sometimes even daily.
Is it ok to change the water so often?:confused:
Thanks!

For years people been telling me,this way is good that way is good.
Well after sometime you will derive a way that will work for you.
Basically you have to condition you water that dont cause any harm to your fish.
Fresh water from tap in Singapore contain chlorine and chloramine so you have correct that.
After water change when to do it again, how much and when to change.
Well you have to work with you fish and be observant when you fishes are showing they are not comfortable or water condition's does not look right to you.
Ammonia and retarding growth ''chemical' for fish is not good for any fish so you have to derive way to overcome this.
I may go on for hours ,but i shall not. There is no fool proof way for everyone.
Just have fun learn from each failure.

Agreed. Try 50% water change every 2-3 days and adjust....either increase % of water change, or adjust frequency of change.....and best is to observe the fish. If something not wrong, the fish will tell you.....'hey dude...can't you seee my tail clamping?, %#@ i am sick'...etc Then u re-adjust again.

astrog, its really depends on the size of your tank too on frequency of water chg. For myself i do WC every 3 days but i know the water can last for 5 days as its not dirty at all.
Pls rem to aged the water at least 48 hours.

Oh freyster, need to aged the water for 48 hours!!
I see, I think the problem I'm having now is that I didn't aged the water.
I used direct from tap, added anti chlorine and immediately change for them.
No wonder they are feeling not so good :(
Thanks I'll remember to set a pail of water aside for 2 days now.
