Lets take a 'surney ' of how many days everyone leave daddy betta in the breeding tank to baby sit? Take spawning day as day 1 and assuming they spawn after the morning s breakfast.

good morning uncle derrick!
i think what you are trying to say is that your fishes are so sexually active that they can do it over n over again. is that right? kekeke, must be how you condition your fishes.....any tips uncle derrick?

sebas , no trick involved . i left my fishes outdoor. i have a spawn of marbled(delta). In the first tank, they had two round already. I had prepared a hugh styroform box(long type),intended for use as "growup" for other fries ,next to the breeder box.I take out female(don,t know what to do) ,throw "her"into the new box than decided to take the male out also(it was under a leaves, with bubbles nest).take him out with bubbles, found egges in them ,throw everythings into new box, next fries out in a day.thought weir but they are at it again the fellowing day.after another round ,Steven cheng and co ,come visiting , i told him about same and shown him. while looking ,found new egges in new nest.now 6 weeks past already, don,t know how many rounds, first batch of fries about 1/2 inches already and many different sizes of fries in same box ,still find new bubbles nest this morning. Afraid to take them out, belived ,they will die if i do it.(die of "mah tio fong").ha..ha..another ,chenhan red ,(he can,t breed them so ask me to help)his male had problems(cannot shit),after nursing him, i throw them in(tank),after two days , small bubble nest, thought no fries ,left them inside. But next two days , new nest appeared ,and they atarted spawning.but found few days old fries swimming around while checking the nest.they are still in the tank(2 wweeks)never have problems(eating fries, touch wood)chenhah smiling...till his toothes drop out....next fred asking to try his yellow and his black plakat, maybe will put some viagra in,.....ha ha..thanks and regards Derrick++soory for the error if you find, find it troublesome to check after the "hard" typing..++

Derrick, I think the fish like the romantic setup you give them lah. Got big tank, lots of water and lush green plants for them to hide and seek. Very exciting for the fish. That red male I pass you didn't even blow bubblenest when it was here. Now u said breed at least 2 rounds already. Hehe...what brand viagra u used?

I had a successful spawn on Monday night early evening. It is now 10:30 pm on Thursday. I took the father out as he had a wound (from the spawn) that looked rather ugly. There are a couple of fry swimming horizontally, but the majority are sitting on the bottom of the tank. Can I expect any to survive. This is the third night after the spawn and the second after the hatching.
ThanksI would say that you have probably taken out father a little too early. Here's how to raise a spawn without father: http://www.bettaclub.org.sg/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13

the norm is 3 days after hatch.. which is normal free swimming... meaning hortizontal swimming.. instead of up and down...
some leave the male in long.. but i think there is not a need...
imagine u not eating or eat very little for a week... while running 2.4km all this time......
lol./..

thats why I leave the male with the frys for as long as possible . he will help break any surface film when he goes for air .

Do note that there are fathers who go after the fries as food after they start free swimming.

I have a question:
When to remove the male betta?
Is it after the fries are free swimming?
Is it after the tail appear from the eggs?
What happen if I leave the male in the tank? Will it eat the fries?Hi Yazid

I remove the male once most of the fries become free-swmming. In my experience, the male has a strong inclination to eat some of the fries. You will slowly see a disappearing brood especially for smaller aquariums despite frequent feeding.
