Personally, I prefer a higher percentage in the tail (i.e. longer caudals vis-a-vis the body), so long as the finnage remains straight and not curled. So while the 50-50 proportion may sound nice theoretically, it might result in finnage that is not taut. So as a compromise, I would sacrifice a little in the finnage portion to achieve a more robust shape. I would say 45-48 percentage for the caudal and 52-55 for the body.
