Hi sebas,
this is somethg which all mbrs luv to hear.
Do you distribute them to any 'central' location for further distribution? Not many will be able to go all the way to S tengah. Do you distribute to Lam Hong? Many of us living around the region from YCK to AMK to Bishan. Come Jan / Feb, we ll need loads of daphnias as we breed for aquarama.

Yes, KY has been there several times already. He is rather addicted to the area it seems, its very much his favourite kampong style there. Also, his works place is 10minutes from our place.
What we sell:
-Live tubifex worms
-Frozen Hikari Bloodworms
-Frozen China Bloodworms(for luohans)
-Live feeders for any carnivorous fishes
-Tiger barbs, baby catfish, baby tomans, lowergrade guppies, live prawns, red fish, mixed color fishes etc
-Luohans
-Bichirs
-Sucker fishes (plecos i presume)
-Big parrot fishes
How to go to our place is another problem, thus only those with cars or lives near me gain the advantage. We are located at the Sungei Tengah area, those with cars can exit at KJE's Sungei Tengah Exit 5 -> turn right at second junction and drive all the way until the see the number 96 (its normally filled with vehicles). Our place is on the right of the entrance. I would advise all members with only EZlink cards to join up and take a cab at CCK Mrt Station, so as not to defeat the purpose of getting cheaper worms and daphnia. You guys can go there by yourself as my grand dad is always there, but try not to get anymore discounts on anything nor identify yourself as BCS members cuz he doesnt know about our club:)
Ya, i guess a few months before aquarama, loads of us will be breeding intensively, the need for 'boon' will definitely be increased. But sad to say, i may not be able to send worms and daphnia to YCK or AMK cuz i will be studying and also helping out in the farm in a few weeks time. So if i really have to, i may not live to see aquarama[:I] But alternatively, i will see whether i can send these stuff on the weeks ends, most probably on Sunday mornings, i will sort things out as soon as possible. Things will be different once i get my driving license!!!

Sea monkey is another variety of brine shrimp. Not those that we fed to our fish.
It's a human hybrid artemia from a laboratory.
Brine shrimps come in different size. Unlike Sea Monkey which hatch at almost adult size, the usual bbs that we use are tiny which is suitable for newly hatched fries due to their nutritional value. As these tiny crustacean grow bigger, like what you saw, it's suitable as a supplement to bigger fish due to it's high macromineral value.
Do read up or search for sites which describe the growth of artemia.
Enjoy.

NOPE. Sea Monkey scientific name is Artemia NYOS. It's a hybrid from 2 different type of artemia, one of them is what we know Artemia Salina.

Gin Yew, years ago a group of scientists conducted an nutrition experiment on brine shrimps and some of the feed (yeast enriched). Based on the results, newly hatch bbs or nauplii contain high vit A that's suitable for fries growth. As they grow larger to adulthood, those that we can purchase from the shops, the brine shrimps contain nutrients that are good supplement to our fishes. According to the results, I see some nutrients absent. So it's a good food but not for long term feeding.
brine shrimp can grow large. How ? Foo Hong might like to answer that. Those I hatch don't even got chance to grow beyond 24 hours for the maximum nutrition required.

I beleive the shop that sold you the bbs eggs doesnt himself know much. bbs are small at hatching but if you keep a couple alive in clean salt water mixed with some powdered food, you will find they grow...grow...n grow. I ve only grown them up to 1 week to see...what the hack they looked like......wasnt trying to raised till adulthood.
Friend of my dad used to raise bbs before to adults in concret ponds, near sebas's farm...hehe. Thye take 3 weeks to grow and a lot of salt....commercially not viable. Mind you, in such cultures, they eggs are carried by teh adults and turn into bbs at same time. so you get a mixed of ;monkeys; at alll sizes. They are fed whatever smaller than their mouth, including chicken feed!

I am not doing sales here. Sales is at Sungei Tengah Rd NO.96 . [}:)] I am here to let fellow BCS members know that there is such a place at Sungei Tengah that sells live food for bettas at farm prices.
Just for your info, we provide daphnia and tubifex and bloodworms to some LFSs and some betta farms(past and present) where you could have gotten your bettas and betta food from.

For daphnia, i use green water. But daphnia are big eater of green algae and my production of green water not as fast as they eat. But my fries finish them off fastest off course.
For blood worms .. erh ... put in a chicken and let it suck blood ? hahahaha I really dunno. I only use frozen.

To reply to you question, for daphnia, the best way but also the most eeky way is to keep them in a pool with big surface area filled with faeces! They will reproduce and reproduce and reproduce and reproduce........ Haha
ok, seriously, if you wanna keep live bloodworms and tubifex for a wee bit longer period of time, keep them in chilled water, and pump air, they will last longer, courtesy of my grandpa!

i was suppose to be there at 11am. But somhow i had to wait for 45minutes until theres a empty cab, and who is willing to send me to sungei tengah. The downside of not having a car license. :(
Anyway, i was there around 12.15 or so, uncle derrick and co was there.
