Why should you be. It just shows that when you persevere in what you do you can achieve your objective. Yes it takes time and lots of patience.

just amazed that what started out kinda plain could blossom so well. at least if i interpreted the thread correctly that the three pictures refer to the same fish

OK
I just found my way to this thread. And now i have another question. That MGCT is super nice, he was an ugly duckling when he was younger and now i am wondering what kind of exercises water changes etc. did you have to do to get him to that point? He is very nice. I cant get enough of him.lol. And also another question about the MGCT's. Since you have now introduced the Mask gene i am guessing from Copper would that make them not "real" MGs now?
Just have alot of questions.lol.

I think I had dealt with the topic on the care and maintenance of crowntails, somewhere in this forum. plse look it up. As for the metallic genes being introduced, yes we did that with moderation, but the base is still basically MG.
Our Thai neighbour has introduced a lot of new colors in bettas today, that had never been seen before in the past. It is now generally your choice to either be traditional or to take advantage of what the Thais had done to improve the colour range of CTs that had really been lagging behind. For me, I am more into either venturing into new colours or perfecting existing ones.
