This is rather urgent. Need experts' advise.
One of my females got seriously bitten by another fish, it is bitten at the area behind the head. Fish is abit weak, resting on the bottom.
But she is still maintaining the normal position. The injured area is rather big, i have added salt and met.blue . Please reply asap.

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty worried, this is the most illusive yet most serious case of injury i have seen. As the fish is a cambodian, a bruise looks very much like a red marking on the body. Until i noticed the seriousness and removed the other fishes, then have i really realised that its one big chunk gone. not quite sure of its condition now, went limp again after i did another water change and sprinkled some salt directly over. But seem to have returned back to the normal body positioning again. Guess its a touch and go situation now. I hope she is hardy enough to survive. Not quite sure of what i am doing now, went berserk, the fish just arrived in Singapore yesterday and now its life is on the line.
What Luck.

Hi Sebas,

Sorry to hear about your female betta. I would advise you to adhere by the rule: Prevention is always better than cure. Try and keep your breeders and show bettas in seperate containers, that is: until they are ready for breeding. More pain yes but there will be more gain as well.

Yes, i have called Peter and told him about it. He has promised me that he will bring a replacement along when he comes to Singapore for the competition.
Yes, have learnt the lesson.
