Well, unless you are straits aquarium. Why do you breed n keep bettas. Bcos you love it....wrong![:o)]
Bcos you love it ....so show it to the outside world [8D]
While we geared ourselves and time our spawns to coincide with events like aquarama[may/june] n local competiton [ year end ], lets not forget the other events around the world. I personally see it as a way to put our national flag on the world map. Straits have done so. Well fair enuf, home breeders cannot afford the time. But where we have a gud fish on hand, consider sending it overseas to compete.
I propose whoever come to learnt of any such events, post it here so we have have a sort of calendar. Pls state date n country of event.
It can be an IBC show, asian show, whatever.
Heard Jan there is a show in Thailand. anymore?

Good suggestion Foo Hong. I would like to further add that we can consolidate that who are interested in sending their fish to these competitions and BCS send them together. Can tap on the expertise of experienced hands and would be a value-add to our members.

There is one in Korea - www.kopet.com
Another one in India, sorry can't recall the website but it's an international aquarium trade show right at the end of the year from x'mas to jan 2003.
Not too sure if Japan and China got any for betta but I know for goldfish sure have. China Pet Trade show just over. Another China Aqua Trade show during May 2003 at DaLian or ShangHai. For Singapore, the Goldfish club have not make any announcement to have a show for 2003 (usually they have it at Tanglin Mall, probably cancel to prepare for Aquarama 2003).

I was just thinking whether we can tap on Straits' expertise to help to send our bettas to international contests. Might be a business proposition to them, with discounts for BCS members. Edwin can help?
Also can I ask if there are any betta events in KL anytime soon?

Here's an opportunity for those interested in sending fish for IBC competitions. Do be reminded that you would have to be an IBC member to participate.
