Guys, what does it mean by "only for knock out"?
All the competing bettas of a particular category will be paired up during the competition.
So, if there are 16 bettas in a category, they will be organised into 8 pairs. Following that, the Judge will pick 8 winners out of the 16 bettas (i.e. 8 losers will be "knocked out") and arrange the 8 winners into 4 pairs to be judged the same way. This will go on until a Champion emerges.

Welcome to the forum, Yishu.
Besides the team event (11 bettas, with 6 reserves), there are the individual categories (single betta entries). So, if you have a male red crown tail, you can enter him in C10.

Or even a female red crowntail, enter her in F15 :)

I think you need to pay when you register. Better to call before your trip to make sure they are open. The phone number of Betta Kingdom is 6756 7230. You don't have to bring your fish when you register.

Hi Morris,
Didn't notice the typo while I was admiring the plaques. Anyway, I spoke to Rick over the phone to enquire about it during lunchtime. According to him the judge's name (i.e. Atison Phumchoosri) was misspelled as "Atlson Phumchoosri".
Rick would like to apologise for the typo.

I'm afraid I was unable to snap nice pictures of the winning bettas during the event.
Took some pictures but I couldn't get the fish to flare at the correct angle. Must admit that I was rather busy that day and a little too impatient.
I guess the pictures will have to be posted by the respective winners.

I agree with you, Edwin. It was indeed an enjoyable day and personally, I had lots of FUN helping out with the event and meeting you folks.
Atison, who was visibly tired but still jovial after the competition, did indicate that the quality of the fish at the competition was very good.
