HI ,
Its me again.Like to show a little on my butterfly line.
Started this line (think) two year ago.
Got a nice butterfly(turquios white) from thai(warapon.. wasan brother) but at that time , no female(don,t sell them).
Bred him to my saichon female(lost my pics due to computer problems).
p1...No butterfly but bred the best female back to the father.
p1sq..some varigated type.....
f1xf1...got some good butterfly but found them very diffecult(fixed)
f2xf2.....managed to get some,...only one good pcs
f3xf3.... getting better,started to get total pastel fishes from same lot. confirmation of marbled gene(fries)
did a few f4xf4...solid colourx solid colour, solid x white, white x white.....solid x white .. gives me some very good colour butterfly.

This spawn gives me about 50 fries, i got around 30 pcs of butterfly(as of now) some might marbled out to solid colour fish(varigated type).Only problem , i have from this line is , the spawn is alway very small(max.. 50-60 pcs), some only 10 pcs.....sighhhhhh

No , he is no from this line.He is from sarawut line but unfortunaly, he died three days after the comp..sigh %^&*&&^%.BUt i have his brother on standby.

Hi Derrick,
just love those green pastel BFs!! I'm a big fan of the BF pattern. Have been very disappointed in the past with imported HM bettas. Sold as BF, but when they arrive they are the marble edged like you mentioned in the "are these females HM?" post.
Attached is the only HM BF from the same spawn as the females. He is a fabulous mauve colour to the eye. Camera puts an unusual tint on him. Good or bad, he's all I have to work with!!

Just joking of course, I like virtually everyone here. Do keep those butterflies coming, I am also a fan of the pattern.

Do you have a sibling or any other fish with green butterfly that did not have the flesh marking on the body? I am also curious as to why your green butterfly had some flesh, is this genetic or from injuries?

Hi Jodi,
THe male is , good for colour and showed good caudal..edges(outcuvring and good branching,a little weak rays) but since its the only one , you will have to work from him.suggested , you breed him to his sister from the same spawn, try with a few if you have the resoures.(the females should carry some marbled genes). i belived you need another two generations , to see better result.Its actually good , to get one from first generation . keep it up ...and going....

david , butterfly is basically marbled . they are very defficult to control. the patching fishes are from the copper butterfly x normal butterfly spawn. they are the marbled pattern, not fighting injuries markings. most will marbled out as solid colour when they matured.(hope the butterfly pattern stays).My others spawn from solid x solid butterfly , give me solid turquios /white butterfly but sad to say , alway very smal spawn, the last two only 15pcs and 8 pcs.

Well, after the comp , the next day , took some pics of it then in the afternoon , it just hang on the water surface(all other fishes from same water), maybe "he" is telling me :"hey , i done my part already so please let me goes"...ah ha ha.TRied all medication that i know but can,t save "him".When the Great light"blackout"(the blackout night) , it went the same moment.

Nice work Derrick! I just love the way these lavender BF lines have BF females. Need to work out why only this colour does it, and then perahps breed it into the other colour lines. The girls look so smart with their frilly white edges. If you could get a pastel line going, and produce real pink butterflies, you'd have the perfect gift for every young girl on the planet! (move over Nemo!!)

What has happened here is that the fish carries a faint white colour on the irridescent layer, a variegated non-red (yellow butterfly) on the red layer (or a variegated yellow layer) and has black scales on the black layer.

By MG butterfly, do you mean a blue, yellow, white triband betta? To get this, I would advise a cross between a blue butterfly (with almost full white fins and blue body) and a MG betta with half yellow half clear fins.

The problem with butterflr is that they are basically marbled, my previous spawn gives me lot of marbled(piebald type).I managed to cross them back to solid coloured fishes but i lost the butterfly patteren on the pectoral fins( can,t have best of both world ...ha ha)

The father from generation 2(f2), F1 gives me lot of plakat longtail:D,hal;f/half kind of fishes.Plakat with long anal or Hm with shorter caudals.When they are young , they are beautiful and look good but..........?????.This is the only good male from the spawn.

These plakats, are from my f3 generations , but the colour is more towards red ,dark orange, not to my liking yet.What i have in mind, is a fishes with oranges finnages , rest the same as per mg(with yellow finnages).

next due to above , i changed my formula(from above pairings), for my long tail version and surpries ... surpries... surpries....,These are what i gets , ythey are only 2 mths old, they are the bigger fries from the spawns.
