Hi Guys,
We are used to using medicines that are manufactured specifically for fishes ... but do you know that some of the medications that we use for human can also be used on our fishes?
1) Epsom Salt - Cure indigestion
2) P.P. - For parasites removal
3) Yellow Solution - Works like yellow powder
4) Blue Solution - Works like M-Blue
I am sure the list goes on ...
Anyone can elaborate on the list above and probably add more to the list?
With Best Regards,
Samuel Phan

actually i think all those chemical were actually meant for human and some worked and some were too toxic. so it kinda branch to fish seems those chemical/ antibiotic works on bacteria, fungi, parasite, virus.
in fact i like to go guardian pharmacy to see what they have for topical injuries which can be used for fish.

Epsom Salt - Magnesium Sulfhate ( Mg2SO4.7H20 )
Highly used in several area :
1. ENO the laxative salt
2. Softener (probably those commercial ones)
3. Fertilizer (for treatment of yellowing of leaves, highly used in aquascaping )
4. Fishes
PP - Potassium Permaganate (KMNO4)
For active parasite, bacteria disinfectant, oxidizing agent
Usage :
0.05gm per 1L for 30 mins bath (fish only)
0.10gm per 1" of fish (koi, aro and goldfish)
Extreme dangerous if overdose as oxygen will be used up fast
Jap Yellow Powder - likely NitroFuran
Banned synethetic anti-bodies chemical
Yellow solution - unknown - anti-sceptic
Blue solution - kekekekee - diluted PP 0.05% i think.
There is another one but highly dangerous if overdose -
Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) - Extreme Oxidizer
Usage : very interesting ...
1. Anti-sceptic, anti-bacteria, anti-germs, anti-xxxxxxxx
2. For human consumption (those commerical washing vege solution)
3. Rocket Fuel, when break down, it's pure H and O and after burn, it's 1 O used and result in H2O.
Commercial Fish product : AquaMedi Oxycure.

dropsy normally started with live food feeding and poor water condition. That's why be extremely particular with live worms treatment.
i use oxycure to prepare the water for treatment as it dun contains other chemical or dye-based chemical, at the same time destroy any live bacteria in the water and the gills. Not meant to cure it. I still working out a way to cure such a small fish as I used to direct medicine insertion method for other bigger fish like goldfish. For dropsy, 1%-1.5% (1-1.5gram per L) salt solution bath should be used for dropsy and maintain very low water height(1-1.5" of water). Antibotics should be used to make the final attack on the bacteria. Most popular yellow powder lor, or tetracycline. I seldom get dropsy lah, very difficult to continue the experiment.
Anyway, i use a lot of oxycure for other type of fish.
