I have the hard copy if anyone's interested.

This month's article - about the proliferation of names to all the "different" strains - is supposed to be excellent as well, and very relevant to our betta scene here! Don't think it is in S'pore yet but will take a look in the bookshop later.

Oh, I'm talking about the magazine article. just went to NTUC and got the October issue where Dr Lucas talks about the numerous names that abound.

I asw the Goldstein book at BettaHouse at Ubi for about $18.00. They had quite a few copies.

I believe Dr Hsu and I are referring to the same thing - a almost monthly column entitled "Bettas...and more" by Dr Gene Lucas in the Freshwater and Marine Aquarium (FAMA) magazine. It is available via subscription from the website http://www.famamagazine.com or at Borders. As mentioned before, it is a must read for anyone serious about bettas.

Looks like Dr Leo Buss is being groomed to take over the "Bettas...and More" column on the FAMA magazine. A free look at the column for Jul 2003 is available at the Fama website (http://www.famamagazine.com).

I read that FAMA is acquired by another aquatic magazine.

Dr Buss, would there be an impact on the "Bettas and More" column?

Leo Buss

Myron - Yes, Gene and I will continue to alternate monthly "Bettas ... and more" colums to FAMA under its new ownership. -Leo

For those of you wondering, there were no FAMA issues from Jan 2005 - May 2005 (or is it April 2005).

Here's the new FAMA website: http://www.famamagazine.com/FAMA/
