Foo Hong,
Although we know sometimes photos do not show the fish at their best, I think your melanos, blues and steels and the multi I got from Thailand can easily give the respective class winners a good fight! We really need to think of some way we can send fish in for IBC competitions through the club!

Have checked with Diana ...
Seems quite difficult to get fishes to go into US nowadays ...

How about just making BCS the most prestigious event this side of the Pacific? If indeed our fishes are the better ones, we could become the premier club and replace IBC. I can dream can't I?

Guys,
follow this link http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwbettasd&1034387098
The opaque male auctioned is the winner in opaque category at the Global HM breeders club IBC show. Look at the flaws in colour and disproportionate anal fin length.
If I know this is the standard there, I should have entered my opaques there. Think some of our fishes are much better.

Wooo ... lousy quality like such as a winner???
My God!!!
Agree with you that many of the local Opaque breeders will have nicer fish that that ...
myself excluded. :)

In a competition, it also depends on the number of quality entries in each category.

Actually Dan Young was asking me to send in some entries [^]. so i believe their entries were quite few.:D
However, when I contacted them again 3 weeks before the show, none of them replied my mails :([V]:(
