I am Martin ,one of the PIC for the Delphino Betta Competition . And for your latest info , there will be 2 more new categories . They are Copper HM and New hybrid in colour .

Previously , we have New Hybrid category but it didn;t specify whether the bettas are to be new in Finage or Colour . A
nd we have splitted the New Hybrid category into 2 categories .

New Hybrid : New Hybrid Colour and New Hybrid Finage

Not sure whether it is just me. I somehow find the caudal a little short, compared to the rest of the body. While the caudal is in line with the anal and dorsal, the body seems too big? Gives me an impression of disproportion. Maybe because this piece looks different from those that we commonly see.

Myron - What do you think? Any idea the age of this fish?

I think the fish is quite proportionate, though perhaps not as perfect in terms of form as the irridescent lines that perhaps we are used to. The caudal should ideally be slightly longer to be absolutely perfect. There is also a slight bump on the backbone.

The fish is probably from the same batch as the fish I got from Mr Kang, which I estimate to be about 4-5 months. Very good line. The outcross of my line to Mr Kang's line is about 5 weeks old and really excited about the results.

Very observant! White tipped ventrals are generally not ideal in reds. The lower caudal edge also looks a little "rounded" but I am not sure whether it is because of the movement of the fish. The upper caudal edge looks fine. What do you think of of my earlier comment on the body vis-a-vis the caudal size?

the arc from dorsal to caudal all the way to anal may be in proportion, but i do find the caudal abit small too.... the D shape seems more elongated rather than broader.... dunno if u guys get wat i mean... still a nice fish though, else they wont choose it as GC... Congrats to the winners!!
