Some of the fishes tend to have collapsed finnage after the spawning. Anyone have a similar experience?
Some of my fishes which used to have very large finnage spread and some even HMs. But when put them into spawning ... maybe due to the tiring ritual they have to go through ... their finnage normally suffers ... with or without any nibbed finnage.

stress, tiredness, and sometimes dirty water unchanged for many days. a dose of MB or YP for few days and feeding will restore its energy.

This is probably only applicable for those that still have the vitality to hold their tail ... some will just starts to wither and die off soon.
PS: They are sometimes not exactly old fishes ....

Then its teh fish himself, those so called ' by-passing Hms', which are not actually HM bcos they only look good for one month like a HM but tail loses shape and grows longer heavier, till it sags. 4 rays caudal type are at risk of being in this group, though not all.

This is something new to me ... I mean the term "By-pass HM" ... but I think you are true ... there are some fishes that only look good for a very very short time.
